Advice please on high sugar levels...

Hi my readings are mostly okay, I take 3metformin daily and have levels of between 4 - 6 but lately they are creeping up to about 10 - 12. I am getting terrible thirsts and my question is how do we bring sugar levels down?? I only know about getting them to rise a bit but not to reduce them...thanks
 
If you don't alter you Metformin dose and don't increase your exercise, the only thing left is to reduce your carb intake.
above that you have to get a doctor to prescribe more or different medicines.
To me personally, that would be the slippery slope. I prefer to control my carbs TIGHTLY>
