Hi I’ve been ignoring symptoms and burying head in sand. Doctor told me pre diabetic just over a year bg was 5.5 on waking this morning. (I took 2 SR metaformin to go to bed with last night.). After having coffee with almond milk and small can of tuna with bit of mayo 2 hours later neck and head sweats. And bg 7.4. I took 2 Sr metaformin and I’ve settled now not sweating. Any advice please my sweating is awful I’m going ket to try to help. Thank you. do you sweat high and low bg?

I believe that the best thing for you to do is see your doctor and discuss your worries and symptoms with him probably even get yourself blood tested. If nothing else it should get your mind at rest.

I definitely sweat with low blood glucose. I suspect that after a normal early morning blood glucose level it then decreased after your very low carb breakfast and triggered an adrenalin/cortisol stress response. As you had taken Metformin this would have prevented the conversion of glycogen in your liver into glucose. One of the side effects of this stress response is then excessive sweating. Eventually the protein in the tuna was slowly broken down to release glucose and the stress response would have no longer been needed. If I become hypoglycaemic the outcome is horrendous sweating.
Could this also be linked to the menopause?
