On Sunday my eldest son & fiance are taking us to Sunday Lunch at 1p.m. I always take my Byetta before breakfast and before evening meal I am wondering whether to leave my first dose until pre-lunch and take the other dose in evening as normal. If I do this what would be the best things to eat for breakfast - boiled egg ? - I normally have porridge but without the byetta I am wary.
All advice gratefully received & many thanks in anticipation. Jude

Jude.
Have a small, virtually carb free breakfast if you can, then just before your Lunchtime meal, inject the Byetta.

All you have to do then is make sure that AT LEAST 6 hours elapse before you inject again for your next main meal. This causes no problems, I have done this many times before.

Monitor your Bg level closely in the morning.

Hello Ken

Thanks Ken - I was going to pm you but then decided to go on the boards!! Anyway you have confirmed what I had thought of doing - I will probably have scrambled egg for my breakfast. Many thanks. We are really looking forward to this as it is the restaurant where we are going to have Stephen & Alisons wedding reception in August and we aare going to try it out - do hope it works out!! At least one son still values us!! Thanks again - do hope you are feeling okay. Jude

Hi Jude.

I hope you and your Family all have a great day.......forget the carbs for the day......enjoy yourself.
Well, in moderation I suppose.

As for me........stressed to hell ! I'll survive though......I have the good wishes of people like you and Viv to keep me going. That's what this place is all about.......support when we need it.

Ken. xx

Hi, sorry for being nosey but what benefits do you get from changing the timing of your Byetta?

Thanks Catherine

Hello Catherine

Not sure if you are asking me or ken! Anyway, I always have a snack at lunchtime and dinner in the evening but on Sunday for Mothers Day we will be having a full blown sunday lunch at 1pm so I was worried that my bg would go up too high - I have never tried this before but I am sure it will be ok. Actually in the early months of byetta when I was suffering very badly with nausea my diabetes nurse suggested that I took the byetta at lunchtime and evening but I never tried it. Jude

Thanks Ken - your support is always appreciated. Sorry you are so stressed - guess that doesnt help the bg?!! Hope you are getting some less stressful times. Jude x
