https://josekalsbeek.blogspot.com/2019/11/the-nutritional-thingy.html is what got me off of metformin, but be careful when you change a lot, drastically... Not sure if you can hypo on alogliptin, but I seem to remember one can, so don't make any changes without a meter and loads of test strips available.
Things can get better than they are right now. Bit surprised the B12 was cut, as it is a known side effect of metformin... But I don't know what's going on with the NHS anyway, being Dutch. I just know it's an overtaxed system, that's about as far as it goes. But it is worth it to ask your insurance how it works, maybe, if it's due to metformin use? (Then again, once you're off, you won't need it for much longer anyway, one hopes!)
You'll get there. Not saying everything'll be rainbows and roundabouts, but it can get better than it is right now.
Hugs,
Jo
