Hi everyone.
I wondered if i could get some advice please. My mum has type 1 diabetes and this is controlled through insulin. But my concern currently is for my daughter who is 16, over the last week she has been exhausted and generally not feeling quite right, we have put it down to stress and the time of year, but today my mum did a finger prick test on her and her reading was 8.7. because i know very little about diabetes i am not sure if this reading coupled with the symptoms over the last week are anything to worry about. i will make her a doctors appointment but i just wondered if anyone could let me know tonight if this result is anything to be concerned about, my mum thought it was a little on the high side. she hadn't eaten anything before the test. thank you and i hope you are all well this evening.

That reading is high enough to get your daughter checked by her GP but not high enough for you to worry too much

I think a doctor's appointment sooner rather than later. It may be nothing to worry about but you need to know.
