Hi Chrissy12,

This could be any number of factors:
  1. You injected at the wrong time (e.g. you injected too late for the peak onset of the insulin to match the peak breakdown of your meal);
  2. You miscalculated the carbohydrate contect of the meal (kidney beans, etc., all have carbs);
  3. You were already on the rise from an unrecognised low sugar;
  4. You've had some stress today, causing a bit of resistence;
  5. You've injected into another site that has a different release ratio than where you're used to(or you've injected into an area that needs a few days off);
  6. Erm, I'm sure there's more, but my grey-matter has just gone on strike!
I suggest:
  1. Think about the above and whether there's any chance they may have been the cause;
  2. Test again on the third hour post meal / injection and see what the result is then... and let us know ;)
P.s. It helps if you let people know what insulin you're on... you could put it in your signature - like I do in my hall of infamy!

Oh I think Chrissy is a type 2 on Metformin (according to her profile)

How may carbs were there in your meal and did you have some sort of base or wrap made with flour?

Ahah! Indeed - I knew there was something else! Trust the old grey matter to think along narrow lines at this time of day! :facepalm:
