Hi guys!

Looking for some advice, I have been T1 diabetic for almost a year now and have just returned from a trip to London.
We did loads and loads of walking and I wore what I thought were well fitting and comfy trainers. I have a hard uncomfortable area on my pinky toe, which sounds like a callus from Dr google and when I googled, it said I should see podiatrist if diabetic (which most things say!!). I just wondered is there is anything I can do to help it, or since I'm home and not walking as much will it get better on it's own?

Many thanks in advance! X

I would definitely see a podiatrist - feet are not something that diabetics should attempt to self-treat. Dr Bernstein says that most of the ulcers and foot problems he's seen in patients have been caused by badly executed home attempts to remove hard skin :(

Maybe try and pop into your diabetic clinic and get to see a diabetic specialising podiatrist.

What may seem to be a small problem can soon escalate. Treat it now and "Keep your Feet"

Regards

Martin

I'd agree, with checking with a podiatrist, the ones I have seen have been friendly and very helpful
