Thanks both My cholesterol at its high point was around 9.6 but is now 5.3 or there abouts this is despite the fact that I do have a healthy diet and exercise. My dad has high cholesterol so I blame him!...not really. I should be due for a Hba1c, cholesterol etc check in the next month I will discuss Q10's, reducing statins, and whether they will allow me a meter etc on prescription if not I will get one. I would rather try different things other than more meds if I can and it is good to hear that you have taken Q10 with no problems Jim. Thankfully I do not have any side effects from the statins that I know about e.g. the muscle pains etc but having read more I feel that it may have contributed to my becoming a type two ( I like you Annie do not have any medical training). I guess it comes down to high cholesterol v high BG. Once I have my results I can embark on the Q10's etc so that I have a comparison before and after. Gary
