I am cycling the South Downs way , 100 miles off road , I am on a high protein and very low carb eating program , one evening meal a day and am having amazing results, any suggestions for food to take with me as I may be unable to get food on route , I am doing this to build up lost muscle caused by my condition , I have put my body in a state of ketosis so am feeding off fat for energy not sugar , any suggestions would be appreciated

Hi @Waterworld1 ,

Welcome to the forum!

Never tried, what your doing. (So excuse if it sounds a silly sugestion.) Could you carry a small camping stove & fry pan & do eggs & bacon on route..?

Good luck with your endevour.!

Sounds like a great challenge!
How long do you expect it to take? and how many meals/snacks are you expecting to need?
Are you doing it soon? Summer temperatures?

My first thoughts are nuts, cheese in wax (babybel kind of thing), tin of corned beef might come in handy.

I did a marathon a few years ago - pre-diabetes - jelly babies are always useful, bananas too (useful in combatting cramp) and lots of liquids. Good luck - sounds like a great day out
