Yes i can still type just, feel so sorry for the diabetics these days the pressure is an understatement. No disrespect but it seems now its like school kids going for the exam and geting good grades. sorry been to polite too long if i get banned so f*** but i can imagine people going to get there HBA1c results and if they dont get there results what they want they sulk like kids. Ive joined this forum as a REALISTIC even down to the HBA1Cs everyone will put theres down when its a good result but theres a probably majority is ****... why is it c***??? not because of of themselfs not because of diabetes uk but because every diabetic is different and most of all every person is different and the support is **** ie test strips etc etc. what iam saying with one sqinted through drinking abit if someone is well controlled its down too good care and a good diabetic specialist, if your diabetes is s*** its your fault...... so lets have this right if you do what they say and it dont work out they just make up an excuse like wel this could happen bla bla bla and if u click a good HBA1c well its seems to be working keep up the good work...Proper GP stuff try this and see how it goes...Doctor iam dying i can arrange an appointment for next week..jesus i could be dead and reincarnated by then.. ok ok try parecetamel and water see how you get on... what a joke its become. Ive never took sides but for the people that have good sugars ok you keep doin what ya doin, at minute my sugars are 20 had jab pasta 2 chicken kievs 2 bread mayo and a small cake and why??????? cos thats what my body says i want with a can of beer and listening to the fureys..thats irish music for the peeps that dont know.

oh Danny, you're going to feel rubbish in the morning my friend. When you get your head back in the right place I recommend you have a read through something xyzzy posted earlier which shocked me and reconfirmed to me why I am trying to control my blood sugar. At the end of the day, its your body and your life, you can do what you like :D

Someone has just said this to me "Diabetes2 is not the end of the world and you aren't going to die from it"

So am I being paranoid?

Tell them in a study of 55 year old Type 2 diabetics who did not control their sugars made over 13 years half were dead before the study ended and of the survivors many were blind and had lost limbs.

Is that "end of the world enough?"

Type 2 Diabetes is not the end of the world IF you learn to control it by what ever means you choose. Control means getting your blood levels low enough and making lifestyle changes to lose weight etc if you need to.

If they want to see the evidence tell them to read these.

After 8 years ..

A follow up study was then done at 13 years. The slides for that can be found here http://www.stenodiabetescenter.com/documents/forskning/Oluf/Steno-2follow-upstudy.pdf

The above shows the two groups they used. In the standard group of 80 people who were badly controlled 40 died before 13 years was up. Even the intensive therapy group wasn't particularly well controlled hence a load of them snuffed it as well.

Oh and the source of that study? My GP

Whoever told you that is speaking out of their ar*e

Hi your name speaks for itself lol, iam fine prob will feel abit s*** in the morning oh well, iam just trying to make apoint iam all fine never had surgery on eyes yet organs all ok blood pressure spot on, my point is with in reason living for today is more more important than your HBA1c, because its not just the result, its all the time youve missed out in achieveing that so you can that face

It was but life gets ya by the ********, dont get me wrong a picture of me is still quite good..... iam just trying to be on the side of s*** controls that dont speak up.. and the good control are doing everything right its all **** weve all got the same chance of geting a complication iam still supping as i do iam not an alcy but i think this is the way england has got scare tatics legs off eyes out i do belive everyone should take care of themselfs but to a degree life will balance the rest outx

Just take care Danny. And yes, I do understand where the sentiments in your post are coming from and for a lot of diabetics there are really bad patches and times where blood sugar control seems almost impossible. Sometimes the reason for this are never explained nor understood (I've been there!!). Stress and personal issues affect me greatly and I agree, DSNs/GPs putting pressure on people to get to an almost perfect HBA1C at this time never helps - it just makes matters worse. It's common sense that we all want to get there but we're all different as well and it's never a case of one size fits all with diabetes management.
It's never a good idea though to go on-line after a few beers

El i can tell you very easy from my opinion, iam not even gona ask you if shes on nova rapid and levemir or lantus, 2 injections a day humilin m3 but shes gota have breakfast snack dinner snack tea and prob snak before go bed and when i mean snak pack of crisps prob 10g carbs around same time everyday... but its not my place to diagnose your daughters medication but ul find it alot better i think

and can i just suggest in my alcoholic rage i can speak more rational half ****** spelling mistakes etc than alot people on here if everyone was doing fine there wouldnt be a forum. Ima just trying to put abit of sense in the political correctness the jokers of the diabetics specialists around the uk..there may be alot of good HBA1cs around the forum but that dosent mean the specialists are doing there job and it certainly does not mean that reflects the majaritoy...dont take ur frustration on me iam here to help people listen they will be helped but iam not god

shes back on twice a day but novomix....it has been suggested humilin m3 as it has less of an insulin spike which meansshe can have lunch at break11am........its her little fruit and rice cake habit when at home........i swear i bought apples the other day......... but thank you and i really mean that...hba1c of 10 may be ok if i can stablize her on that..... if fact i think it will emcourage her to agree to it....as you say sometimes there are too many that really try and suceed in good hba1c and others just have to make do...thank you once again...x

DannyH...

Diabetes as with many things in life sucks big hairy monkey balls.. no one wants it but unfortunately sometimes we have to cope with things or do things we don't want to.. So first step is the shock tactic... go read this thread: viewtopic.php?f=19&t=12551

If your not going to give a **** about yourself then at least care how your actions effect those that you love.

Secondly I do not believe there is a person that can not control their diabetes and achieve good HbA1c results with the right support... again in this world a lot of the time you need to find things out for yourself; I was once in the same position as you and a had a brush with DKA and had a nearly not very pleasant end... that put an end to my self pity and I realised I had to control the diabetes and not be controlled by it.

You can control your diabetes you need to control your diabetes and everyone here if you ask will help you control your diabetes.. stop living in denial and start controlling your diabetes rather than letting it control you.

i wonder if i had dollowed the advise of my gp and wait and see and then do a blood test for diabetes and then waited a week for the result....jane might of got really ill and felt really really unwell and then she may have thought she better do as they say re treatment for diabetes!!!!!!.byt i knew the signs borrowed a monitor...knew HI meant not good....knew ketones weren.t good and went to see a friend in the diabetic clinic....didn.t even get admitted to hospital...just treated tne ketones at home like we still do ....WHAT A MISTAKE X
