I have recently bought a cookbook that recommends Agave Nectar. Is this suitable for diabetics? And does anyone have any experience of the product? Brucenjude

hi, yes i use it in some recipes and seems fine to me tescos sell it if im remembering right

Depends on how / if it's processed. Raw agave has less fructose than processed but doesn't taste as nice.
I found some agave spiked my sugars same as fructose / honey whilst others didn't - generally speaking the more expensive it was the less it spiked
I gave up on agave because of this - I'd say test a small amount and see what it does to your sugars rather than assuming all agave syrups are equally good for diabetics

It's still a form of sugar, but tends to be lower GI, so slower release. I've used it once or twice, but found it quite expensive

As a diabetic you should avoid all forms of sugar where you can. Fructose is best avoided for all of us other than in the small'ish quantities found in fruit

Agave contains sugars. Each person will have to find out for themselves if it spikes them and of course fructose isn't really good for anyone.
