Hiya
Just Started pumping 2 week ago and on the 2nd day of a set change we will get a bubble in the tube.
is it something i am doing wrong there only small so i disconnect the pump and rewind and push the bubble out is this the right thing to do. its only effect the BGs once over night but with a pen correction and a set change all was fine.

how do i stop the bubbles!

Hi

If a bubble is in the tubing, then all you have to do is put the pump into STOP mode and then just enter the PRIME mode and literally prime the air bubble out with insulin until it comes out the end of the tube. No need to take cartridge out and do rewind of the piston as then you will have to advance the piston again to line up at the bottom of the cartridge because you'll have a new level of insulin units left in the cartridge.

What pump do you have only some pumps are more prone to the air bubble problem than others?

Hi

If you are putting your pump in your pocket with the tube at the top, then air bubbles could get into the tubing, so a good way of keeping an air bubble in the cartridge if one appears after 2 days or so, so that it doesn't work its way into the tubing, is to attach the pump to your waistand (using the pump clip or some sort of mobile phone/camera fabric bag with belt loop) and turn the pump so that the tube is at the bottom and then if a bubble does appear, it will rise to the other end of the cartridge instead of the tube end.

Also make sure that the tube is screwed in firmly into the cartridge attachment for the pump. There should be a thread so make sure that you dont damage the thread. Makes sure too that you slide the plunger inside the cartridge up and down so that the inside of the cartridge is lubricated by the seals on the plunger mechanism.

Hopefully some other forum members who use the Veo will be able to help you a bit if you have other problems.

Try not to worry though as it takes time to get to grips with using a pump..... they all have their little gripes that people have to figure out how to overcome... Just make sure that you able to test your bg levels fairly often as the results that you get will guide you on your carb ratios and basal rates that you are using..........

Good luck..... :)

Hiya,
make sure your insulin is at room temp before filling your cartridge. Also make sure you have no air in the cartridge once filled.
When you put the new tubing on make sure that's tight enough so no air can get in. If any bubbles in the cartridge once filled just tap them to the top with a finger or a pen then remove.
Any bubbles that do appear in the tubing then just prime out or fill the tubing (not sure what wording used on the veo) then reconnect.
Always check your tubing twice a day it saves high numbers :)
