Airport scanners

Hi,
My husband has type 1 diabetes and uses a Libre sensor to monitor his sugar levels. He does not use an insulin pump and injects himself.
We fly abroad this weekend for the first time since he has had a Libre. Will the airport security scanners and X-ray machines damage his sensor or affect his readings?
If so, what would be your advice to avoid this happening?

I've been through scanners with my Libre 2 OK but best to mention it to security so they're aware of it.
 
Me and my Libre have been through many many many airport scanners both attached to my body and spares on eth x-ray belt,
They have all been unaffected.
I do NOT mention it to airport security unless they have an issue s(which they have never done). My health is personal and not something I need to share with others.
As always, I recommend taking a good supply of test strips as sensors can fail for other reasons or fall off and you need a back up.
 
I was told 15 months when I started my Libre not to go through scanners and I always mentioned it when I went through one only to be told it was ok and it always has been .

Thank you, that is helpful. My husband too does not like to talk about his health conditions so I think we will just chance it :)

Fab, thank you. I had not even heard of it until I read a BBC news report today so it’s good to know that you have had experience of all being well!
