Alcohol & Metformin

Is there anyone on here who drinks every now and again,only ask as only found out a few weeks ago that i am diabetic not had any alcohol since i started on Metformin, going on a stag do to munich in April and know i will not be able to go mad but what amounts have people drunk on a night out and what affect has it had on you. :evil:
 
I have got plenty drunk on it many times and don't seem to have had a problem. Like a lot of drugs though, it may effect different people in different ways. Not that I'm encouraging getting drunk, but I'd test it out before doing it in Munich!
 
If you can limit yourself to 2 or 3, you should be fine. Try to stick with light beer or wine, if you can. My husband drinks up to 3 adult beverages on insulin with no ill effect. But the only way you will know is if you try a few and see how they affect you.
