Alcohol wipes and libre

Soap and water does just fine. Just make sure the area is completely dry before applying the sensor.
 
Nope and no idea.

However 40% ethanol by volume may not be strong enough.

I still have a store of wipes saved from previous Libre packages, fortunately.
 
I just realised that hand sanitiser should work. That's useful - I've got loads of the stuff.

It's not cost effective.

A box of 100 Medi Swabs with 70% alcohol is $18.00

A bottle of good Absolut vodka with 40% alcohol is $60.00

A no brainer here. :playful:

Edit: I forgot to put in the Alcohol % of the vodka.

It will likely work but it's more expensive than just buying a bottle of alcohol. I prefer applying my wodka to my inside not the outside. :hungry:
However, if it's just because you need to change your sensor now and don't have anything else on hand, I'd just go ahead!

And a small bottle of 70% alcohol is only 1.85 euro, plus the additional cost of a single sheet of tp to apply.
On the other hand, a liter of cheap wodka is only 12 euros, so cheaper than your swabs! :hilarious:

Oh, a 0.7l bottle of Absolut wodka is 18 euros. I guess I need to look up the conversion between your dollars and my euros.

The bottle of Absolut is a 1 litre bottle that I mentioned.

A 700 ml bottle of the same brand is $45.00 here.

Your €18.00 is Au $ 28.05 at the exchange rate app I use.
 
I just bought some EZ-Aid Pre-injection Alco Swabs, they were £3.89 for 100 and don't see me running out any time soon.
 
Soap and water is absolutely fine as long as you don’t use moisturiser.
I have been using this combination for years (I never liked using single use wipes) and do not have a problem with sensors falling off.
If alcohol wipes were really a necessity, Abbott would not have stopped supplying them.

My advice would be to save your money (and vodka).
 
I only considered vodka because I have loads of rough stuff I'll never drink. Sainsburys do a very smooth one made from milk. I wouldn't use that on my outside!

I'll stick to the soap and water since it seems to work really. It's only for the free trial.

Perfect solution!
And for the rough stuff cluttering your cupboards, just buy a bottle of coke and offer it to guests to get rid of it. ;)
