Has anyone else had an allergic reaction to metformin have been covered in a rash for a few days only new meds are metformin so now been taken off them

Hi, @Hopmoore , and welcome.
Metformin is one med that causes me no problems at all. Some people have gastric issues with it, though.
I have had lots of allergic reactions to various other meds, including NSAI like ibuprofen, and anaesthetics, morphine, too. These were investigated by an allergy consultant, and I have to avoid these meds now.
Could be that your other meds don’t mix very well with Metformin. I found that a pharmacist was better than GP at checking for contraindications in my meds, as this is an area of expertise.
Hope you can recover well from the unpleasant reaction, and find a better way of managing your diabetes.
 
Thanks still itching and spotty but getting there not on any diabetic meds till rash completely gone sugar levels are not to bad being very strict with diet to try to help
