Alternate day fasting

Hi

Not a massive poster in here, but just want to see if anyone has tried alternate day fasting?

I'm going to start next week.

I know from reading here and past posts alot of people are keen on keto, but I find this very difficult. I've fasted in the past and it was much easier for me. I get there is a benefit of potential weight loss, but im interested to see what impact its had on people's blood sugars. My current is 69mmol. I take metformin and forxiga.

Fasting might be dangerous with medication. It can make your blood sugar really low and put you in a coma. Please be careful.
Neither metformin nor forxiga are medications which cause hypos. There is no reason at all to expect lows when fasting on those medications, although BG may go lower than usual while still in the normal range. There is definitely no reason to fear going into a 'coma' from low BG.

I have no experience with fasting (except for skipping breakfast and lunch occasionally and unintentionally). I think it would depend on what you eat on non fasting days.
Do you use a glucose meter or continuous glucose sensor to test throughout the day and before and after meals to see how different foods affect you? This could be very helpful to see where you can make adjustments, and to see how this alternate day fasting works for you.

There's a lot of room between keto and eating all the carbs all the time.
