alternate day fasting

Is their any definite view on this for type 1 like me? My brother (not diabetic) has had great results reducing his calorie intake one day and eating normally the next. It feels more achievable than a continuous diet. My plan would be to simply reduce (halve maybe) my carbs every other day and reduce my insulin appropriately. This tends to be what happens when I go on holiday (no access to bread & biscuits) and I often come back few pounds lighter. I read something about the risk of ketosis but I don't see why.

As with any restrictive diet I would talk it through first with your HCP, it's a whole different ball game for someone who doesn't have type 1 diabetes than someone who does.

Hi, I will check before taking any action but I'm wondering if anyone has any specific experience and information on it. I've been on a local DAFNE course and know about carb counting, ratios and adjustments/corrections etc. (I feel like I may know more about it now than my GP etc in some ways). it feels like an extension of this approach as long as you don't go to extremes e.g giving up carbs and not taking any insulin. My main worry is ketones which I don't fully understand but have never been an issue for me.
