Am I Type3?

So, I'm pretty new to the forum and was always reading under the Type1 discussions, but curiosity got the better of me and I decided to have a look and see what Type3 was as i'd never heard of it. I had a total-pancreatectomy on 15th Sept and if my deductions are correct, I think I might be a Type3 diabetic now. (Even though I am treated as a Type1 with a basal/bolus regime just with the added pleasure of pancreatic enzymes too!) I did have an underlying endocrine condition which caused multiple rumours of the pancreas (thankfully all benign!) so that's why it was all whipped out! I feel a million dollars now. Am getting to grips with diabetes management but always wondered just what Type it was I am managing!!

I had no idea there was even a Facebook group to join!! But it feels good to have a certain type as I've felt like a bit of a "Fake Type1" until now!! Thank you, I'll take a look and see if I can find the Favebook group!

http://www.pancreatitis-forum.org.uk/, there is also this forum, lots of us are in both the Facebook group and part of the forum. Don't worry about the forum being for pancreatitis, there are some people who gave had a TP like you in both groups
