If you are diabetic amputations are usually caused by not controlling your blood sugar levels.
To control your blood sugars you need to do the following.
Stop eating sweet things with sugar in them like cakes and biscuits and chocolate.
Stop drinking drinks with sugar in them like ordinary Coke or pure orange juice or other pure fruit juices.
At least half the amount of rice, pasta, bread, cereals, potatoes and anything made with flour.
That will make you hungry so eat more vegetables, meat, cheese and fish instead.
A small amount of fresh fruit each day is ok.
Things like yoghurt are ok
Drinking the diet versions of fizzy drinks is ok so Diet Coke would be ok.
If you do that it will help control your blood sugars and avoid amputations.
