I did. Got told I was “Normal” last time and have to wait til my birth month for a repeat (8 month wait since last test). I’ve raised this with another dr and may get a repeat test next month (5 month since last one). We’ll wait and see. I was prediabetic in hb1ac and some irregularities in other tests , ferretin and creatinine most notably. Thyroid is supposed to be being monitored closely post surgery too!
Lol I don’t think that’ll work for me. I have refused to be tested for cholesterol last two tests. I got an almighty lecture from the gp after the one at diagnosis and was adamant that lifestyle would address it, knowing that active weight loss would quite possibly make it look even worse short term. So no tests meant no false higher results to be argued over. Though weight has been stable for some months now so maybe now is the time to see what’s happened to it. I’m more than happy with just tests and only have reviews if something is amiss.Keep pushing. I have remembered what happened in my case. It was at a review with the nurse. She told me she would move me to annual testing. I pulled a face and told a whopping lie. I said I was more interested in my cholesterol because of my high fat diet and wanted to keep an eye on it. That was December 2015. She allowed my request and since then I have remained on 6 monthly tests, one review.

Smooth piece of psychology there! The nurse was probably looking forward to seeing terrible cholesterol numbers and the satisfaction of scolding you back to the path of low-fat righteousness. You must be an awful disappointment to her.
It has done for the last 5 years in my little bit of Buckinghamshire. Certainly at my surgery and since I started low carb.I do hope that the positive experience I came across today reverberates up and down the country such that everyone can benefit from similar changes.
Indeed. It was quite an experience given all that I have discovered on this forum and what I had encountered previously. It also has been quite a stroke of luck.@Listlad - Seems you hit the jackpot of GP's, which is great news along with the good results, reduction in bp med. Congrats!
That’s great. What I found surprising was that he stated that the Eatwell approach was outmoded, as clearly for some that is not the case.It has done for the last 5 years in my little bit of Buckinghamshire. Certainly at my surgery and since I started low carb.
