An unintentionally helpful thing about Omnipod for cyclists

This will be helpful to hardly anybody. And anybody who uses omnipod will only want about one or two of these at most, rather than the 100/year they get. But...

In the omnipod packaging, the cover you tear off looks like Tyvek - very strong paper-like material. It might not be actual tyvek, but it's close enough. What's interesting about that? Well, if you get a big hole in a bike tyre, the inner tube will poke out and go pop. Which is unhelpful. Patching with rubber suffers the same problem - it stretches. But tyvek is a really good patching material for this, because it doesn't stretch - in an emergency, put it round the inner tube and it won't stick out of the hole. I'm just putting a couple of the sheets in my tool kit - they weigh nothing, and would have helped me several times in the past.

Here ends my probably almost completely useless public service announcement :-)
