Hello all,
I need to buy a budget smartphone for my dad to use with his CGM. I found a thread where it seemed Samsung and Motorola were popular but it was 4 years old so newer models will be available now. I also read about problems with CGMs and android 14 but assume this will be sorted now.

Budget is hopefully under £300 for a new phone (dad won’t consider refurbished) and this is what the phone will be used for

Cgm
Phone calls
Online banking
Google maps for directions

The camera will not be used so not relevant.

If you have a phone that you would recommend please would you be kind enough to share the details.

Thank you in advance for any advice.

I'm currently using a Google pixel 7 which I like. Cons are no expandable memory, no headphone jack. I bought it refurbished for under £200. New in that price range you're probably looking at a Samsung, personally not a huge fan, but not because of CGM issues

honor200pro (also no headphone jack) works well one of the black friday deals might be able to pick up a great deal :)

i used a cheapish phone as well 8 or so months ago cost me around 80. i can look out the model of that phone if its of use. did banking / google map directions etc too.really depends on how much you wish to spend imo if just for the tasks you listed i wouldn't go anywhere near your £300 budget isnt really needed. some mobile stores you can ask them to install app on their demo phones to check to see if would indeed be compatable :)
