Hey guys,
I'm really excited as I'm just about to order my insulin pump!! I've given a lot of thought as to which I'd like (I'm lucky that my diabetes centre is able to offer a choice of about five). I've narrowed it down to the Animas 2020 and Paradigm Veo. I can't decide which is more appropriate for me and was wondering if those on these types of pumps would be able to provide me with some advice. I've had a good look at the websites but I'd like to hear about it from a current user!
The reasons I like the Animas is that it's small and quite a sophisticated design. The screen is quite aesthetically pleasing, I find. It's also waterproof which is something I want to bear in mind.
The Paradigm is great though because of the remote control aspect. It would be so handy if I were wearing a dress, for example, and I didn't have to hitch up my skirt or go to the bathroom to bolus! Do people find the remote control useful? I'm not so keen on the design of the paradigm, though. The other special features offered seem similar on both. I would quite like the vibrate alert on the Paradigm too as I work with vulnerable people and having a pump alert go off would not be very appropriate. I assume this is the case for most people ?
Are there anymore aspects that you like about the two pumps?
Thanks
