soaps on telly and people talking about the characters as if they were real.
Yesterday, I drove T1 husband to the podiatry department of the Royal Berks Hospital. The podiatrist did his foot and called the doctor in, who agreed that the ulcer is healed, but said they continue treatment for 1 more week, to make sure it doesn't break down again.
Whilst T1 was putting on his shoes and socks, she looked at me and remembered that I'm diabetic too and had an ingrowing toenail a while back. That's when she rold me to self refer to the West Berks
community hospital, where it was dealt with. she asked me if I'd had the surgery. I told her I'd been warned it can be nasty and hadn't had it. I was then told it would be better to have it done whilst my circulation is still good enough for it to heal properly. I told her I'd learnt to deal with it if it happens again, by clipping down the side of the nail and lifting out the "Spur" that forms and that anyway, my circulation ISN'T going to deteriorate. I keep BG down to non diabetic numbers.
At least she didn't take offence unlike the nurse at the birthday party.
