Well, I had my annual review today and hadn't told the DN of my lifestyle change 6 weeks ago to LCHF or that I'd taken myself off statins at the start of the year.
I do believe I'm one of the lucky ones with my surgery as despite "only" being T2, I do get testing strips and lancets on prescription. Today I also got a little book called a Wellness Diary
DN was so pleased with my results that she has entered them in the Wellness Diary for me.
Last year my HbA1c was 97. Today it is 63
Blood pressure today - 131/80
Weight loss since October 2013 = 4kgs (but no weight loss since starting LCHF)
eGFR today = 0.8
BUT cholesterol is up from 3.3 to 5.3. I had to confess I'd taken myself off statins and she didn't seem too concerned and has given me another 3 months to see how I get on without them before deciding if I should go back on them.
I did tell her I'd changed my eating habits and increased my exercise and she didn't ask any questions. I think I've got one of the good 'un's!
All in all, for just 6 weeks of LCHF, I'd say it works!
