Here is another news item but still not directly on topic but of interest to me being hypertensive as well even tho I am reluctant to consider taking even more pills every day.
"AstraZeneca (NYSE: AZN - News) today announced the availability of DUTOPROL™ (metoprolol succinate extended release/hydrochlorothiazide) Tablets, the first and only once-daily antihypertensive agent that contains the active ingredient of TOPROL-XL® (metoprolol succinate) plus a low-dose diuretic (also known as a water pill) that provides proven blood pressure lowering at 24 hours."
Not quite sure if this is relevant outside the US nor how superior it might be to my Lisonopril which is also a combo drug. They seem to be offering it at a lower price though.
