Thanks for any help or advice

Hi Tracey

I was diagnosed last year - put on meds and finally taking responsibility for myself this year :)

There are some really lovely helpful people on here that will point you in the right direction and give you help about what to expect!

I am still too new to feel confident in doing that  but would like you to know you are not alone and there are things you can do to help yourself!

Poor you finding out from the little Hitler's on the front desk... hardly shows much consideration for your feelings does it? It came as a shock to me and that was from my GP.
Read all you can here and ask away however dumb you might think your queries might be - they are not.
If you wanna lose weight... of course you do... maybe metformin tabs will be a double benefit.
Most of all though be very careful with what the NHS tells you to do with diet. I am so glad I found this forum because it is helping more more than the so called NHS experts.
Be nice to them tho perhaps play up the guilt thing about how you were told so they not only give you a meter but a presc for strips!
All the best on your new direction in life! 8)
