Hi All

I was diagnosed 7 years ago with Type 2 and to begin with worked hard to stay in control. Recently I have been in denial and craving and giving in to biscuits and sweets, something I avoided for a long time. I am now confused as having been told by GP to eat complex carbohydrates I now see from the postings here that it is suggested these are avoided. Help! I really want to get on top of this and loose weight sensibly. Any suggestions would be most welcome.

Hi Aurora.
Welcome to the Forum. Looks like you got overlooked yesterday......

Although you are not newly diagnosed if you are having problems and also need to lose weight some of the basic information here might help......have a read. There is also a weight loss section here which might help you. Speaking personally, I lost 5 ½ stone by ignoring the GP advice and reducing carbs.........also means I have great Bg levels too.

hya and a really warm welcome to the forum

Hi Aurora - welcome to the forum. That was good information given to you by Ken which should help you to eat properly and lose weight. I have reduced my carbs and fat and have lost 3 stone and my levels are good now.

Thank you all, I believed there was little variation possible, so will take this advice and start to monitor my levels and see what actually happens when I eat certain foods.
