Hello again,
I have read how and when to test blood sugar but am a bit confused as I seems that you test before eating a meal and then 2 hours afterwards. As long as your reading doesn’t go up by more than 2 points that meal should be ok for you?
I have been testing my blood sugars and mine seem to be going down by at least 2 points 2 hours after eating but then climbing again the longer I don’t eat - is this good or bad please?

What's your normal diet? You have the gist of it right though, test just before first bite and then 2 hrs later

BUT some numbers continue climbing and they might not be associated to the meal. Stress factors, exercise etc.

Normal diet is veg, chicken, fish, salads, I cook from scratch everything so I would say diet pretty good now. I don’t eat bread, potato, rice or pasta. I used to drink wine and eat chocolate in the evenings but not touched either for the last 8 weeks and still not lost any weight ( so how does that work)
I normally only eat twice a day and my only vice now is a spoonful of Greek yogurt with a couple of Strawberries after supper.
I also drink loads of water every day - at least 2 litres.

Also have a small handful of walnuts but with a meal.

@missmolly ... Odd, but I'm in fact similar, save for the fact I lost my weight very quickly. Your vice, by the way is not what I'd term it. Are you on the LCHF diet and what are you looking to lose in terms of weight?

Some find weight loss takes ages, others don't

I think what you're eating is fine :)

I am trying to be on the LCHF woe but finding trying to work out carbs a bit taxing! I would love to lose 3 stone but realistically probably 2. Not holding my breath though. Have tried all my life to lose weight but it’s really not easy for me. I can cope with the food ( or should I say lack of) I just find it soul destroying that the scales just don’t want to budge. My theory is that Insulin is storing fat on my behalf!

OK ... I know girls are sensitive about this stuff (never understood why) but what's your BMI?

The loss won't happen overnight, but that's a fine start you've made :)

Perhaps add a little bit of fat to your meals. Maybe a dab of butter or some olive oil. Seems like what your eating is pretty low fat.

I have just weighed in this morning and have put on weight for the second week running - not a huge amount but I can’t understand Why this is happening. Soul destroying.

I do have fat with meals as in I sauté spinach in a bit of butter and make my own salad dressing with olive oil. If I have omelette I will cook the mushrooms and egg in some butter. I also have a handful of walnuts most days. Do I need more? I have put on weight the last 2 weeks when I am really trying to lose it.
