Antibiotics and hypos

Just wondered if anyone had had any experience of hypos whilst taking antibiotics? Usually, my blood sugars are much higher whilst on antibiotics and I increase my insulin dose. This time though, without making any changes to my insulin I have had results in the low 2's at least once a day since starting course (not normal for me) and wondered if there might be a link?

Thanks

Re: Antibiotics and hypos

Usually if we are prescribed antibiotics it means we are fighting an infection which normally results higher bg readings. I can't say that antibiotics have ever had the effect that they cause hypo's, however it might be worth mentioning to your gp if your going to be taking the antibiotics in the long-term, for now just cut back on your insulin slightly or increase your carb intake.
