Hi everyone! I just stared a course of amoxicillin into my 3rd day now and bloods have risen abit for no reason, do I put it down to the penicillin? Also do I adjust ratio accordingly?

Antibiotics can increase blood sugar. If it was me I would make a small increase in my insulins but be careful and use the meter to avoid a hypo.

Depending on what increase in BG's are "a bit".
If they are putting you in double figures then yes an adjustment to your bolus jabs is needed. BUT extra BG testing will also be required to make sure the extra insulin does not put you hypo

Hi @daisypettitt,
Perhaps your BSLs are up because of the infection that the antibiotics were prescribed for and perhaps the antibiotics have not yet gotten on top of the infection.
