Does anyone know if our immune systems are weakened by Diabetes? I seem to be going down with coughs and colds, one after the other. I only have a couple of days respite, when I'm attacked again in the shape of my Grandson coughing in my face.... No-one else seems to be affected.

I think the better your control is with your diabetes the stronger your immune system is.

The docs have always told me it does have an effect and recovery times for any ailments or injuries are longer.

In the time I have been diabetic I have found that if I get a cold then I am prone to them for a while. Touch wood though, I had three or four last year but nothing for ten months now.
