Anxiety and BS readings

I had a mammogram last week. Two days ago I received a letter from the hospital with an appointment for me to return for more tests. Since opening the letter I have had palpitations and adrenaline rushes as I'm so scared. The thing is since then I cannot get my blood sugar levels below 11.0 even though I haven't been able to eat as much and my readings normal for me are 6.0-8.0. Apart from calming down, is there anything I could be doing (I follow a lower carb diet). Thank you....

Stress and anxiety can raise your bg, I'll 'bump' your post up so that other type 2's may be able to offer you some help on lowering your levels.

Best wishes and hope everything works out well!

I think any woman would be worried. I have heard stress can make things worse. How long do you have to wait?

I hope you get an good results from those tests

I have had a similar issues :( I had to undergo months of testing for an underlying heart condition and I was I anxious :( I also had palpitations that they put down to anxiety. And as you said my levels shot up. All I can suggest is try your best to relax, easier said than done I know, walking clears your mind and helps reduce your levels. And also, sharing and talking about things will help. We are all here if you need us :D sorry I can't be of more help :( xx

Hi Jaxx
You have been more than helpful. I have tried to busy myself and today (Sunday) my levels have come down into the 8s. Still not sleeping well, just need tomorrow to come now :( . Thank you again.

Hi, 50 mins until my appt and not really sure how I am feeling. I keep getting the feeling that I don't want to be in this story line! Thank you for your messages, will catch up with you later xx

First of all I cannot thank you enough for your thoughts and prayers. I am so relieved to let you know that after further tests I have been given the all clear! My heart rate has returned to normal..... just, and now to concentrate on lowering my levels. I can fully understand what you must have been going through Jaxx. I think I have found it a bit of a wake up call - to enjoy my life and what I have and not to worry about silly things xx

I have been checking back all afternoon :D that is fantastic news! It certainly does give you a wake up call...I had never been so scared before. As a single mum to two young boys 5 & 2 I was desperate to live a long life for them. It's not happening overnight BUT I'm getting there slowly and surely now!!

I am soooo happy and relieved for you xx
