Hello, I am new here. I am a recently diagnosed type 2 diabetic; I currently on steroid treatment for an operated knee,.
I had a blood clot (DVT+PE) around my lungs last year and I suffer shortness of breath. I am a qualified nurse working in frontline in London. Should I be very worried?

Hello there Kibude

Have you read through the guidance on our behaviours, during this period?

The list outlining those considered to be extremely vulnerable, and thereby required to follow increased requirements is below. You will note it mentions lung conditions, but I would have no idea if your post-DCT/PE situation is swept into there:

This is the full link. I suggest you have a good read: https://www.gov.uk/government/publi...ng-extremely-vulnerable-persons-from-covid-19

In your shoes, if I were also feeling anxious, I would be talking with Occupational Health, to ensure they are aware of your current package of conditions and state of health.

Speak to occupational health. They can tell you to stay at home. They did this for me on Monday.
I actually did get a shielding letter today which I had been hoping to get..you might get one. I'm a midwife in assessment unit and so relieved to have received this letter today.
T2 unstable. Hypertension Anaemia Hypothyroid
Staying home . Good luck

Hey guys, I wanted to feed back based on the advice recieved from this forum. Occupational health has proposed 'shielding' for me based on my medical conditions. I also presented the recommendation to my GP who also agreed that I shield.

Thank you very much guys, best of luck to anyone who is seeking help in this regard!
