thanks paul for that i was wondering if there was any treatment out there for him, as i know its having a huge impact on him and his wife , i will suggest he sees the gp and fingers crossed gets some help xTell him he is not on his own and that it is more common than people think, although male pride stops us from admitting it. It is one of those problems that men with diabetes have to deal with, I suggest he talks to his GP and asks for a referal to an Erectile Dysfunction clinic, most of them are very helpful and can advise on a wide range of treatments which can help
i certainly will and thankyou i wasnt sure how to deal with it as he confided in me for help. being female im no expert on it, would medication be available or does that affect his diabeties, im type 2 myself nd clueless on it xTell him it is treatable but it may take time to find the most suitable treatment for him, so it may take a few appointments but there is light at the end of the tunnel.
It is quite treatable but "fixable" I am not so sure! There are so many things that can contribute to ED its knowing where to start. The guys above are correct and a visit to the GP is recommended. Your friend should also consider having diabetes does not guarantee being the main cause. Stress can be a major cause and that can stem from anywhere like work, relationship or even performance. When it happens its quite a downward spiral as it feeds the stress in a negative way. a non chemical help can be as simple as better bedroom communications.

im glad i have the info to be able to help him , as i kno its becoming a problem . ive known him 10 yrs and never seen him as down on this, glad about the viagra to i did wonder if this would be the choice, just as an extra he has a knee replacement 2 yrs ago that has not taken and he is on tramadoll for pain relief . add on the other meds wasnt so sure viagra would take , but thanku for ur input i knew the best place for advice was here xxOh and Viagra etc. seems to have little effect on my Blood sugar levels ....
hi im writing this on behalf of a fellow type to who is on 4 met a day and a form of insulin tablet , since jan this yr, he is relativley stable now with his sugers, he has a prob down below in sustaining an erection and is feeling a bit down about the matter can anyone tell me if they have had the same prob ? its a sensitive issue and not one i want to advise him on without your help and imput thanks xx
id say stable by medication .. he get 5.3 each day or there abouts but is on alot of other strong meds for his knee xxWhen you say he is "relatively stable" does this mean he is down near non-diabetic levels or that he has just stopped spiking after meals and getting high fasting readings all the time? Reducing BG levels to near non-diabetic can help to reverse a lot of the side effects.
Also, depends on age - older non-diabetics can have similar problems.
His GP will be very familiar with the issue and that is the first place to go for advice.
Cheers
LGC

thankyou so much and i will check this out now xI am not a chap but you may find this will help him
