Hi Everyone,

First post here and sorry if I am being silly.

I have several symptoms of diabetes which could also be other things these are cherry angiomas, burning feet, peeing all the time, fatty liver, leg pain and cramps, indigestion, bloating and slightly low Kidney function.

I have had the 3 month blood test HbA1c 2 months ago and it came back at 35, I have had high glucose flagged on a couple of blood tests taken early in the morning since.

I have today taken a fasting blood test before breakfast that showed 8.5mmol then 1 hour after eating this was 7.5 and at 2 hours this was 6.5. I was going to the doctors before testing and had bad bout of stress could that explain the high reading at all?

With the few high readings I have had but the low HbA1c is there a chance I could have diabetes? I am very confused and really want to get back to feeling 100%.

Thanks

Hi @bobsconfused and welcome!

There’s not really any way for us to tell. Those numbers aren’t worryingly high and might not be high at all depending on what was consumed / stress levels.

If any of your symptoms have got worse over the past couple of months then asking for another HbA1c would be justified - it’s long enough since the other one to make a material difference. Even if they haven’t worsened, they’re obviously worrying you and I’d ask the doctor to investigate further.

Thanks @Goonergal

They are really worrying me to be honest and I am struggling with anxiety about the symptoms which at points are fairly severe but I actually think this is stress making things worse and probably making me over sensitive.

I only had water before for 11 hours but sleep was atrocious < 4 hours interrupted and stress level out of 100 would be up near that mark I was shaking and really freaking out uncontrollably. I had got this under control however it went bad again over the weekend when my dad was taken to hospital strangely with similar symptoms to myself.

To recover my kidney function I have been drinking 3 litres ish of water a day and I have managed to get it back to 75 but this was below 60 for a bit around Christmas. I have changed my diet to try to reduce the Fatty liver and this is probably a similar diet to Diabetes low sugar, low carbs and healthy greens so doing all the right things.

Thanks again
