I am veggie too, I find Indian one of the best eating out meals as there are plenty of veggie dishes.
I choose as far as possible the driest dishes with as little sauce as possible, as You never know what an individual restaurant uses to flavour them. I never have rice or nan bread, but as jaykay said I can manage the onion bhaji and poppadoms which are made with gram flour, but I cannot touch the mango chutney as it full of sugar.
I may have something like a veggie balti, with mushroom bhaji side dish and a cauliflower bhaji.
