What are traditional methods? I know Metformin, Insulin and seeing your GP regularly. Anything else I don't know of?
Hi, Gosh this subject is so controversial I don't want to bring on negative comments, but there are loads of different things you can experiment with, many say they don't work for them but many do.Although I was only diagnosed three months ago, so I am no expert, but I am, someone that studies something very thoroughly and looks at options. My sugar levels were up to 16 (in UK terms) but now, rarely go above 6.5. I have lost 13 kilos in 3 months, which I am sure has helped. However, the biggest friend I have found is Turmeric, or rather the substance in it, curcumin. Granted, my levels would come down in 3 months with metroformin and diet, however, I have run several tests without metroformin, using tablet supplements of turmeric, and it has lowered my sugar EVERY TIME. It's also good for a whole load of other stuff too, and pets! Some days now I don't bother with the metroformin, and on Thursday I am going for my 1st 3 month check up, and will discuss coming off it altogether. Google U Tube films, diabetes 2 natural herbs and medicines, success stories etc, there's loads to watch. Another thing I am currently doing and interested in is fasting. I eat last meal at 8 and first at 12 noon, again, google it, but I am finding that very good too. Good luck!
