Times have changed since I had my two with diabetes, as in a lot better insulins regimes and blood glucose monitoring, even the scans give a a lot more information than when I had mine, when I had my two you were seen by two different consultants/teams, the anti-natal and the diaebetic team, yes on two different days  Now most hospitals cover all the needs of anti-natal and diabetes in one clinic in my area means that we've got to travel to the main hospital 15 miles away rather than our own out patient anti-natal clinc...
Best advise I can give, is to look after yourself, monitor you blood glucose levels any concerns you have contact your medical team... Try not to worry as this can put up your blood glucose as well as your blood pressure relax and enjoy your pregnancy as when baby gets here you won't know what hit you, they may well be a small bundle of joy, but boy do they require a lot of time
As to C-section, well you really need to discuss this with your medical team, as they are the only ones who have the relevant information.. I had both my two normal births, but for me there wasn't a medical reasons to say that C-section was a safer option...
Your querry concerning stillbirth, the HCP professional is bound to inform patient of any risk, so pending mothers are told of this risk if you are concerned have a talk with your midwife, any concerns you have let the team know, and they will do there best to put into prospective within you and your baby...
Good luck, work with your team..
