Anyone else have these runs of bad pumping?

So I've been on the pump over a year now and doing pretty well. I started having kinked cannulas in the summer so my DSN suggested putting my sets in the fridge and this worked really well. After that only the odd issue and I can more quickly spot these before sugars get really bad.

That was until my bad run started....

I use the Inset II sets and I always fire them once into the air to check it's all working before I fire into me. The sets started breaking apart when firing (lucky I don't fire straight into me!) and at first I thought it was the fridge making the glue to cold etc. I reduced the time in there and it was still happening. Stopped putting in the fridge and still happened so bad batch. reported them to Animas and started a new batch.

Next I get food poisoning and my sugars go from 5 before bed to 17 first thing :***: So massive correction to bring them down whilst puking my guts up. Was due a set change at lunch and had timed all my changes for Christmas so did the set. Hit a vein which clogged the cannula  Sugars went mad.

Next set goes in and sugars come down but bolus seems sore. Something not quite right and sugars not good after bolusing. Not happy with set so fire new one in.

Third set hits a vein and clogs again (TOTALLY different area etc)

Fourth set just in and waiting to see

Feeling really ill from constant hgh sugars. Feeling really down and annoyed with the pump etc. So many people seem to hardly ever have set issues and it's times like these I wonder if injections weren't so bad. I wouldn't actually go back but just wondered if anyone else has these periods?

Yes!

I was just going to post something similar.

I hope I am seeing an improvement now, but for some reason, over the past few weeks, using different batches of infusion sets, I seem to go to bed somewhere between 4.5 and 6 but wake up somehwere between 9.5 and one day 18!
At first I thiough it was lod enemy air bubbles, so I have changed cannulas and set multiple times...no good. I tried doing teh fasting tests, and every night, i saw a massive rise in BG between about 11pm and 7 am. I have now increased my dose over night by about 40%. This seems to have worked, and this morning I was a (very happy) 5.8...But, I am concerned, why the sudden change in overnight basaql rates. I am not ill (or I don't think I am) and nothing much has changed during teh day...everything still as it was. I did change to a different type of infsuion set (from Flex link to Tenderlink) and while they are very comfortable, maybe unfairly I am blamingthem a little for this bad control.

I can think of many reason why this might happen occasionally, or indeed over a 24 hour a day, 7 days a week, but I am a little confused by the night time hike. Could it be temperature related, or my pump not liking laying on its back?

MPB...I empthise completely...you do seem to have worked out what is going on which is great. I know that glues are very dependent on manufacturing conditions and temperatire will impact them..good bit of detective work!

yes, i get spells like this. i usually get fed up and stick the pump in a drawer for 2 weeks and go on needles, by the time the 2 weeks is up i am so in love with my pump all over again and things get better until the next bad spell ....
