I'd love a day off please. Diagnosed with Type 1 3 and half years ago at age 55 by way of suffering ketoacidosis. I feel like I've had it forever and I hate the way its taken my freedom and confidence away and made me anxious every waking minute and the resentment I feel.

I've had type 1 for years I was 12, sorry to be a poo poo I remember the freedom and I still very much to resent it in fact Hate and Loathe this flipping thing whatever you want to call it so the only way to try and accept it is to control it as best possible:Hug for you (((hug)))
I so get what you must feel like .
I still get madwith annoyance and frustration when things go wrong or wonky .
I am 5 years diagnosed and can well remember/recall the sense
of freedom living without it .
You are only 3.5years since your diagnosis .
It can lie heavy on us till time gradually erases
the memories of our past freedom from it away .
In a way some other type1's having diabetes since very young may
find it easier to deal with , not able to remember or recall their freedom
from it all in the.past sense .
Now that would be something that didn't need a gift receiptAlways hopeful noblehead. Wouldn't it be great if we woke up on Christmas morning, and there in our stocking, was the cure that would end all diabetes
Anna29 - thanks - I'm not a perfect diabetic, I struggle and my daughter often points me in right direction. I try to even things out ie if I have this now, I don't have that tomorrow -.Kind of thing. Small exceptions birthday etc may have a 'wicked' but nice dessertWell done you ..
It isn't always easy to do either .
Totally get where you are coming from .
We get it all pushed in our faces at xmas time .
Even on TV adverts every night .
