hi just wanted to ask has anyone here ever forgot to take there levemir basal insulin and was it hard to manage there blood sugars?. throughtout the day?.

Yep - and I'm probably not the only one. Although it it was usually asking myself "Did I take it or not?" and I found the NovoPen Echo to be really useful in this respect as it has a doohickey on the end that records the last dose administered and how many hours ago it was.

I'm on a pump now, but when I have forgotten a basal dose on MDI, I took about 2 thirds the following morning and corrected for the initial high. (And tested rather a lot).

Ah I've forgotten to take it or have taken the wrong insulin on multiple occasions! Easy enough to do with over 20 years as a diabetic! When I realised I had forgotten I would normally take a half dose to tide me over till my evening injection and be super on it with checking my blood sugar and giving small amounts of novorapid.

I have forgotten to take it on a couple of occasions. I don't tend to take it again until the evening but will constantly test my bloods during the day to make sure that all is as well as can be,
