Are you on the 3mg break in tablets? So I started taking the meds on the 7th Nov, my appetite has been considerably reduced, but this only really kicked in last week, guess it takes a while to work. I am going for my Diabetic MOT on the 12th December and I'll keep you posted on the results ..only thing I can say is that I have a bitter taste most of the time at the back of my throat, but so far no other issues. I'm excited where this journey is taking me !!
2 months in to Randomisation. Not so nauseous and more hungry so probably placebo but still losing weight but very slowly. 10 kilos lost over the whole trial so far!Just started Randomisation last week. I am sure I am not on the placebo as sickness and constipation got worse. Also struggling to eat some foods. Also feeling full quite easily.
Do you have bad burps when you wake up?2 months in to Randomisation. Not so nauseous and more hungry so probably placebo but still losing weight but very slowly. 10 kilos lost over the whole trial so far!
Now nearly 2 months into Randomisation.. feeling more hungry and less nauseous so I suspect that I'm on the placebo.Hello Charles. The one thing I found was eating small meals often and taking half of a travel pill (anti-sickness) if I felt nauseous. I hope you get on with them.
No!Do you have bad burps when you wake up?
Thanks, I'll give it a tryIf you google the side effects of the 14mg tablets to see if you have any common effects yourself, may be an indication on whether you are on the tablet or placebo. If you check your blood glucose and it is normal that is also a good indication.
Checking up reminded me, on the small doses I did have constipation but that has slowly gone away since being on the 14 mg dose. Thanks, I'll give it a try
Yes, only a few more to take then start "bottle B"Are you on the 3mg break in tablets?
Yes, only a few more to take then
Hi, I'm on the 14mg or placebo, the side effects I get are really bad burps when I wake up in the morning i can feel the bloating in my stomach and it has to come up. I can take or leave a alcoholic drink I used to love a drink . I don't think as much about what I want eat next . I still have a sweet tooth but if I have a little too much sweet things I feel quite sickly and wish I hadn't eaten them also I can't eat the amount of food I used to eat. Also there is a very positive side effect the weight loss for me has been great roughly around 2 and a half stones so far roughly around 2lb per week loss to start with it has slown down a bit now but still loosing a bit.Hello
Does anyone else feel the side effects on 14mg
Thanks mimic pregnancy morning sickness etc? I can’t cope with tea or coffee before about lunchtime and can’t eat either until then. I have given away a few bottles of perfume that I can longer stomach. Don’t get me wrong I am delighted to know for sure that I am obviously not on placebo and in other areas good things are happening, blood sugar is lowering and some weight loss but ugh the nausea! Only on 1st month so hopefully will get better. Thanks. X
Hi sounds like you are on real thing with those side effects and I agree if I do eat too much I feel quite unwell the next day so not worth it. The constant wondering what I going to eat next is gone thank goodness. My weight loss is slow but my diabetic nurse was very pleased at my last check up with bloods and urine etc so on the whole feel good about it. I have to say Ascend are fantastic at answering any queries and offer a lot of support. Wishing you well on your trial.Hi, I'm on the 14mg or placebo, the side effects I get are really bad burps when I wake up in the morning i can feel the bloating in my stomach and it has to come up. I am 2 weeks into 7mg and am absolutely miserable, the nausea is so bad often retching. I don't think it is worth it if it makes us miserable. I have spoken to my doctor about anti nausea tablets as ginger, or eating small amounts regularly doesn't work. Let's hope the anti nausea tablets workI gave up two weeks into the 7mg phase due to nausea and dizziness. At risk of falling especially when rising from seated position. I’m told it will now take two weeks to lose the dizziness. Lost half a stone, but overall not a happy experience.
Thanks RAD123. I agree the benefits are great, all I used to think about was food, even dreamt about it, that has all stopped. My blood sugars have dropped which is great. I have lost a stone, but it wasn't about the weight for me, it is more about stopping my obsession, and getting diabetes under control. I will pick up my prescription today, so fingers crossed it does the trickIt depends what you personally want out of this trial, you come first before anything else. Side effects are different to each individual. I would persevere a little longer as the good effects for me outway the negatives. My blood sugars are normal I've lost weight I've more energy and I don't think about food all the time. Another post said taking half of a travel sickness tablet worked for them with the sickness. I find limiting the amount of food I eat also eating less sweet things. Good luck!
