The diverticulitis is so difficult because what you eat for diabetes sends you on the toilet several times a day as well as limiting excursions! The surgery dietary advice I've received is mashed potatoes, pasta and white rice and white bread and "we can't cure everything." so you can imagine what that does to blood sugar, weight, electrolytes and vitamin retention. I hesitated because the study said that there may be stomach issues, so thank you for starting the thread and I'll be interested to hear what others experience.
