Anyone recently diagnosed with pre diabetes?

Hi, I'm Kathryn, from South Yorkshire - and have recently (a few months ago) been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. Wish I'd come on here sooner as it seems really helpful.

I'm also a broadcast journalism trainee currently doing a story on diabetes - mainly to allow me to find out more. It would be great if anyone with 'pre-diabetes' or someone who was pre-diabetic but overcame it/was diagnosed with type 2 was available to do a short interview for my project. It will hopefully advise and educate others.

Welcome here Kathryn. Care to tell us a bit about how you deal with your diabetes. We are into sharing and supporting each other here.

Since you are newly diagnosed is there anything you would like to know? How are you handling it?

Hi Gordon

I have type 1, controlled with insulin before I eat carbs and before bed. I seem to be handling it OK so far - apart from my glucose levels go high when I'm stressing out with uni work, and drop quite low when I exercise.

I don't really eat that healthy - but used to do a lot of exercise, so I've put on weight since being diabetic as I've not been doing this as much.

What have you done recently to take it more seriously?
