Monitoring and able to manage the fasting and after meal BG readings. Current dosage is 8 units rapid insulin 3 times before meals 2 units intermediate acting NPH before dinner fasting BG target was below 90 and mine is stable around 85. So wondering if the 2 units of basal insulin NPH of any real use or I can stop it? Anyone taking such low dose or stopped basal insulin?

Basal insulin keeps your blood sugars level during periods of fasting.
