Hi, Yes I too suffer with neuropathy in my feet.
My feet are always too hot or too cold never a happy medium!
Pain can range from mild - bearable , to so bad it wakes me up and keeps me awake, this is when I hobble downstairs in tears for the tramadol you mention .
It is so strong , it knocks me out and I sleep soundly after taking it.
Only trouble with it being an morphine/heroin salt based opiate it leaves me muggy in my head up to 48hours later! [cant focus or think straight plus feel groggy and lethargic like you mentioned]
Therefore I only ever use it in severe pain . [or else I am off my " box " on the stuff]
Daily I do take pregablin for the neuropathy and nerve damage pain.
Regularly soak my feet in warm water and moisturise my skin with an emollient cream [diprobase]
My feet can itch till drive me crazy and no amount of scratching stops it! Its so annoying... It feels like dreadful painful chill blains mainly. I used to get these all the time prior to being diagnosed.
General pain relief I use cocodamol combined with the pregablin. This combo I can cope better on and it does help me too.
Only downside with the pregablin is it does effect my memory.... Ask hubby 4 times a day "what day is it" ? on a bad day 'more than 4 times!
Was terrified I was starting with alzheimers - specialist told me it was the pregablin that caused poor memory holding ability. Was I glad to hear this!
Anna.
