Anyone with M1 Maculopathy?

I have recently had a scan and been advised that I have background retinopathy and M1 Maculopathy in my right eye.
I have Googled this condition but there is not much information available to answer my concerns.

Has anyone been diagnosed with m1 maculopathy and after taking control of their diabetes had this condition reversed and or stabilised ie not deteriorating any further?

has anyone had treatment for this condition ie, laser or injection? Is the injection painfull and did it make a difference and stop the condition from deteriorating further?
 
I've had laser treatment for maculopathy, it didn't hurt and was taken care of very quickly.
I had to have treatment because I didn't take care of my diabetes enough to reverse it and the leakage was close to the centre of my eye.
Luckily my vision hasn't been affected. I will probably need more laser treatment, but as my diabetes has improved they have seen significant improvement in.the condition of my maculopathy and it does appear that it's improving.

I will find out in November if I need more treatment.
Best thing you can do is ensure that you take good care of your diabetes, you will have been referred to a consultant at your hospital and they will be keeping an eye on everything and will decide if you need treatment from there.

You have no idea how much peace of mind you have given me.

I have made a complete turn around in my diabetes care now and now that I am seeing better results, I am enjoying it all in a sense that its no longer a chore. im enjoying doing the research and trying different approaches, watching my bloods with various foods etc. I feel better and am more positive too.
I was just seriously worried about the thought of loosing my eye sight. i now know that its not too late and i can stop all these complications from developing further.

Hopefully going on the patch pump soon so im hopefull to get my HBA1C down to 6%. Was 13% 3 months ago. Now Im at 8%.

Hope your eye problem starts to get better but be cautious not to lower yr a1c too quickly as sometimes it seems to do more harm than good according to some of the msgs on the forum.

iHs is right, sometimes a very quick drop in your a1c can make any complications more prominent, lowering it gradually is usually the best way (doesn't always go that way). But, if you do have to have any corrective treatment, you'll probably find that everything will reverse relatively quickly after.
The fact that you know it's there (and your hospital knows) means it can be kept an eye on and something can be done about it.
