Hi Aimee,
I joined Weight Watchers just over 2 years ago. They give each portion of food a points rating. They calculate what your consumption of food in points should be and thats what you eat. I joined when I was just under 18 stones. I am now at about 12.5 stones, so I lost about 5 stones. Sorry to sound a bit vague but I left WW when I had lost 2 stones as I felt I could do it by myself. I never found out if WW made any allowances for diabetics, I don't think I told them I was type 2. I also lost all that weight whilst eating what would now be considered a high carb diet by some on this forum. It's confusing! I used to eat at least 1 banana a day, usually 2, and handfulls of grapes, all bad it now seems, but at WW, all good! Free points! What made the WW diet, or lifestyle I prefered to call it, was the fact that because the foods had a points rating it was much easier to work out what you could eat each day and plan ahead.
Good luck with the weight loss, I not only lost 5 stones I also lost the need to take several tablets a day for the diabetes, blood pressure and cholesterol. No meds for the db now, all diet controlled.
Lee.
